Modern Coastal interior design is defined by pairing the sleek minimalism of a modern aesthetic with the relaxed feel of coastal design. The calming ambiance of coastal design is created by incorporating elements such as sand, driftwood and rope as well as seaside colours.

At M&M's our staff have selected six of our rugs that we believe represent and complement that coastal feel. 

Bungalow 'Oyster Shell' is handwoven in India from pure wool. The earthy tones and rustic woven style celebrates a coastal vibe. Couple this rug with a light beige or grey sofa and soft timber furniture to complete the Coastal look.

Kobe 'Silver' offers a warm taupe colour variation throughout a cream base and a tight textured weave, giving a rustic coastal feel. This flatweave is an excellent option for under a light timber dining table with contrasting chairs.

Drake 'Linen' is a classic rug incorporating a simple textured weave with beautiful warm linen hues. Pair this rug with a cream linen sofa and a statement occasional chair for the perfect coastal interior.

Canyon 'Mariana' features stunning pile variation and magnificent shine. The deep blue coupled with taupe and cream tones resembles that of a sandy beach dancing with the ocean.

Tavernelle 'Anatolia' is machine made in Turkey with 100% polypropylene pile. This transitional rug features a striking contrast between the cream base and rich blue, complimenting the coastal aesthetic.

Svend 'Greyology' is constructed of 100% New Zealand wool. The braid design and earthy tones highlights a natural sandy aesthetic. The braid mimics the rope feature often seen in coastal interiors.
